Abstract:
This study aimed to identify the level of research skills of school principals and relationship to the development of teacher performance from the point of view of educational supervisors, principals deputies and teachers in UNRWA schools in the northern governorates.The study based on descriptive assosiative approach,and applied on a class random sample inciuded (369) from supervisors, principals deputies and teachers who work in UNRWA for the years 2021-2022. The results of the study showed that the arithmetic of estimating the study sample on the scale of research skills was (2.91) with a percentage of (58.2) and with an average rating. However, the answer of individuals about of research skills were between (2.77_3.15) hypothesis testing ranged first with average (3.15),(63%) and with an average rating, where as “data analysis and results interpretation” came in the last place, with an average of (2.77) and a percentage of (55.4) and with an average rating. The arithmetic of the study sample’s estimates on the teachers’ performance development scale as a whole was (3.85) and a percentage of (77.0), with a high grade. The arithmetic averages of the responses of the study sample members to the items of the teacher performance development scale ranged between (4.39 - 4.39).
One of the most important recommendations of the study is to hold training courses in the philosophy and procedures of educational research for school principals affiliated with the UNRWA, and to give value to the research activity practiculary for the school director in evaluating his annual performance, and generaly for all the staff in education department in UNRWA.
