The degree of school principals’ possession of the competencies of electronic management and the degree of practicing them in Ramallah and Al Bireh Govenorate from the point of view of teachers and educational supervisors.
The current study aims to identify the degree of principal’s possession of the competencies of electronic management and the degree of practicing them in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate from the point of view of teachers and educational supervisors according to the variables: gender, educational qualification, years of experience, supervising authority and job.
To achieve the goals of the study, the quantitative linkage descriptive approach and the qualitative approach are used. The study sample consists of all (6161) teachers and educational supervisors in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate. The study scale is applied to a stratified random sample, which includes (399) teachers in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate in addition to (50) supervisors.
The researcher uses two tools for the study: the first is a questionnaire consisting of two parts: the degree of possession of electronic management competencies which the researcher checked its validity and reliability , as the reliability coefficient ranged between ((.95) for the domain of performance and selfness and (.97) for the domains of technical and self-supervision .The second part of the first tool is the degree of practicing electronic management competencies, and its validity and stability were confirmed, as the stability coefficient ranged between ((.97) for the cognitive and technical domain and (.98) for the domain of performance, social, supervisory and subjective. The second tool is interviews with (18) teachers. It is achieved by distributing the questionnaire as a tool for the study, and collecting and analyzing it using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program.
The most important results of the study reveals that the degree of possession of school principals of electronic management competencies in Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate from the point of view of teachers and educational supervisors is high and the arithmetic average is (3.80). From the point of view of teachers and educational supervisors, the degree of practice of electronic management is also high and the arithmetic average is (3.71).
The most important results of the study also reveal that there are statistically significant differences in the degree of possession of electronic management competencies according to the qualification in favor of the bachelor’s degree, and the presence of differences in the possession of electronic management competencies (cognitive) in favor of those who have experience less than 5 years. The differences in the degree of possession of electronic management competencies in favor of UNRWA schools an in favor of a teacher. There are differences in the degree of practicing electronic management competencies in favor of the private schools and in favor of a teacher. The study shows a positive linear correlation between the degree of possession of electronic management competencies, and the degree of practicing electronic management competencies and the correlation coefficient between them reached (.843).
In the light of the results of the study, the researcher recommends the necessity of holding courses and workshops on the competencies of electronic management and the mechanisms for practicing these competencies in order to handle everything new in this field in the neighboring countries and circulate it to the country and to conduct more studies on the competencies of electronic management and the mechanisms of their practice.
