| Abstract: | The current study aims to reveal the predictive ability of self-concept and psychological well-being in the professional competence of educational counselors working in Palestinian public schools, and to know the level of self-concept, psychological well-being and professional competence among them, and to investigate the differences in self-concept, psychological well-being and professional competence among the sample members due to the variables of gender, academic qualification, and years of service. The study relies on the descriptive, correlational, predictive approach. The sample consisted of 337 male and female guides. The results show that self-concept as a predictor of professional competence, while psychological well-being did not as a predictor of professional competence. The level of self-concept and psychological well-being is high, while the level of professional competence was very high. The results show no statistically significant differences on the self-concept and psychological well-being scales among the sample based on the variables of academic qualification or years of service. However, there is a statistically significant difference based on gender in favor of females. Additionally, there are ghgstatistically significant differences on the professional competence scale attributed to the academic qualification variable, in favor of postgraduate studies, while no statistically significant differences are found based on gender or years of service." |
