Abstract: | The study aims to identify parental treatment patterns and their relationship to adolescent behavior in Silwan, in addition to the possibility of revealing the relationship between family treatment patterns and adolescent behavior in a sample of adolescents. The researcher uses the descriptive correlational approach by applying the family treatment patterns scale, and the adolescent behavior scale, and applies the study scales to a directed intentional sample consisting of (383) adolescents aged 13-18 years. The results show that adolescent behavior has an arithmetic mean of (3.48) and a standard deviation of (0.451) to a large degree, while parental treatment patterns have an arithmetic mean of (3.29) and a standard deviation of (0.454) to a medium degree. It also shows that there are a moderate relationship between family treatment patterns and adolescent behavior. It also shows that there are no statistically significant differences at the alpha significance level (0.05≤α) between the averages of parental treatment styles among adolescent children attributed to the following demographic variables (father's education level, mother's education level, monthly income level) except for gender. It also shows that there are no statistically significant differences at the alpha significance level (0.05≤α) between the averages of adolescent behavior levels attributed to the following demographic variables (gender, father's education level, mother's education level, monthly income level). Based on the previous results, the researcher recommends a set of recommendations, the most important of which are the following: Helping the adolescent to form a clear personal identity, by avoiding incorrect parental treatment methods. Working on holding meetings and courses for parents to help them solve their children's problems and improve methods of dealing with them. |
