Title: Job Performance of Employees in the Directorates of Education in the Northern Governorates and its Relationship to the Evaluation Patterns Used from the Point View of Head Divisions and Employees

Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the level of job performance of employees in the Northern Directorates of education in Governorates and its relationship to the evaluation patterns used from the point of view of department heads and employees. The study adopted the correlative descriptive approach, and a stratified random sample was selected, which included (281) heads of departments and workers in the directorates of education in the northern governorates, distributed over (236 employees, 45 heads department), to whom the questionnaire was applied. Also (20) department heads and employees from the study community and outside the sample, with whom an interview was conducted, for the purposes of obtaining qualitative data to enrich the results of the quantitative study. Results showed the level of job performance among the heads of departments and their employees in the Northern Directorates was high, as indicated by the arithmetic average, which amounted to (4.18), and the results of the interview showed that 90% of the workers and heads of departments use modern technology and programs while doing their work, because most of the department’s transactions are not circulated through programs dedicated to correspondence between employees and their superiors, and the level of practicing evaluation patterns was high, in terms of the arithmetic average, which amounted to (3.95). The results of the interview also showed that the workers carry out the tasks as their duties through which the objectives of the department are achieved. The results of the study also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the average of job performance level in the directorates of education in the Northern Directorates according to the variables (job title, and gender), the presence of statistically significant differences according to the variables (the educational qualification in favor of those with a degree Master’s or higher, the number of years of experience for those who have 15 years or more, and the directorate for the Nablus Education Directorate). The results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the averages of evaluation patterns in the directorates of education in the Northern Directorates according to: (job title), and the presence of statistically significant differences according to the variables (sex in favor of males, educational qualification in favor of those who hold a master’s degree or higher, and the number of years of experience in favor of those who have 10 years or more, and the Directorate in favor of the Nablus Education Directorate). The results also indicated that there was a positive statistically significant correlation at the significance level (α≤.05) between the level of job performance and the level of evaluation patterns in the directorates of education in the Northern Directorates from the point of view of department heads and employees working in them, where the correlation coefficient equals (.60).
