Abstract: This study aimed to know the effect of applying the rules of good governance on the indicators of sustainable development in the municipalities of the West Bank: the municipalities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate are a model. In order to complete this study, a descriptive and analytical approach was used, and the questionnaire was used to collect data, where the study population was represented by all the employees and members of the municipalities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, whose number is about (1238), and the study sample was chosen by a simple randomized method to be representative of the academic community amounting to (294) From members of the municipalities and their employees, and statistical analysis (spss) was used to extract the results of the study. The most important results of the research were: The degree of application of the rules of good governance as a whole was of a moderate degree, and with regard to the indicators of sustainable development as a whole, it was of a medium degree, and there is a linear relationship between the total score of the good governance scale and the total degree of the sustainable development scale which turned out to be positive and strong, and from the results there is an impact To model the dimensions of good governance in the municipalities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate in terms of economic, social and environmental development. The study came out with the most important recommendations, such as the necessity of applying the rules of good governance in the municipalities of the West Bank to achieve sustainable development in all its forms, and work to strengthen the rules of good governance, especially community participation, through the conduct of seminars and conferences concerned with the practices and contents related to good governance.
