Abstract: | Abstract This study aimed at recognizing the level of life satisfaction and its relation with psychological hardiness among patients with renal failure in Hebron governorate. The study tried to investigate the differences in the averages of life satisfaction and the psychological hardiness among patients with renal failure according to the variables of: gender, age in years, social status, educational level, duration of disease and the number of washing times per week. The researcher adopted the descriptive associative approach. The sample of the study was chosen by the random method. It included (150) patients with renal failure in Hebron governorate hospitals, (142) questionnaires returned and valid for analysis. The Study scales applied to them were: the scale of life satisfaction and the scale of the psychological hardiness. The Study results showed that the level of life satisfaction among patients with renal failure in Hebron governorate was high with an average percentage of responses (71%), and the level of the psychological hardiness was medium with an average percentage of responses (67.2%). The Study results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the averages of life satisfaction among patients with renal failure in Hebron governorate regarding different characteristics: gender, age in years, social status, educational level, duration of disease and the number of washing times per week. The results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the average of the psychological hardiness among patients with renal failure in Hebron governorate according to the variables of: gender, age in years, educational level, duration of disease and the number of washing times per week. The results showed a positive and relatively strong linear relationship (0.60) between the dimensions of the life satisfaction and psychological resilience. Based on the results of the study, the researcher recommends preparing guidance programs to support the psychological and social resilience in patients with renal failure, especially for widows. |
