Abstract:
The study aimed to identify the leadership role of women in light of the requirements of digital transformation within civil society organizations in Salfit Governorate. To achieve this objective, the researcher employed the descriptive-analytical method, applying the study tools to a convenience sample consisting of (230) women working in civil society organizations in Salfit Governorate, representing (40%) of the study population. A questionnaire was developed comprising two main dimensions: (the leadership role of women and digital transformation). The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).
The results revealed that the overall level of practicing women’s leadership role was high, with a percentage of (81.2%). The domain of "personal attributes of women leaders" ranked first with a high level (82.8%), while the "technical attributes" domain ranked fourth with a high level (79.8%).
Findings also indicated that the overall level of digital transformation among women working in civil society organizations in Salfit Governorate was high (70.2%). The domain of "beneficiaries’ satisfaction resulting from digital transformation" ranked first at a high level (72.6%), while the domain of "administrative support for achieving digital transformation" came last with a moderate level (67.6%).
Moreover, the results showed no statistically significant differences at the level of (α ≤ 0.05) in the means of the study sample estimates regarding the practice of women’s leadership role and digital transformation attributed to the variable of age. However, significant differences were found in favor of women with higher academic qualifications (Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees or higher), women with years of service in civil society organizations (less than 5 years, and 15 years or more), and those holding positions such as (Chairperson or Board Member).
The results further demonstrated a statistically significant positive correlation (at α ≤ 0.05) between women’s leadership role and digital transformation in civil society organizations in Salfit Governorate, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of r = 0.57 for the overall degree.
In light of these findings, the researcher recommends enhancing technical training for women leaders, particularly in digital skills, allocating budgets to strengthen administrative support for digital transformation, dedicating independent financial resources for digital projects within the institutions’ annual plans, and fostering partnerships with donor organizations that support digitization.
