Title: The Social and Psychological Challenges facing by Palestinian Female Released Prisoners After October 7th ,2023 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate and Strategies Overcoming it

Abstract: The study aimed to identify the social and psychological challenges facing by Palestinian Female Released Prisoners after October 7, 2023, in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, as well as the strategies they employ to cope with these challenges. The descriptive-analytical method was used. The study population consisted of all Palestinian female released prisoners after October 7, 2023, in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, totaling 110 Female prisoner. A convenient (available) sample of 86 released prisoners was selected. The findings indicated that the level of social challenges faced by Palestinian female released prisoners after October 7, 2023, in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate was moderate, with a mean score of (3.13). The level of psychological challenges was high, with a mean score of (3.65). The results also showed that the overall level of Strategies Overcoming , among the released prisoners was high, with a mean score of (3.93). Furthermore, a statistically significant relationship at the significance level (α ≤ 0.05) was found between the psychological and social challenges and the coping strategies among the released prisoners. In addition, no statistically significant differences at the level (α ≤ 0.05) were found in the levels of social challenges, psychological challenges, or Strategies Overcoming attributed to the variables of age, educational level, duration of imprisonment, and marital status. The study recommends providing specialized psychological interventions accompanied by clear social and economic support as essential measures to alleviate psychological challenges and enable released prisoners to regain stability and reintegrate safely into society. It also recommends strengthening coping strategies among the released prisoners through enhanced group programs, training, and continuous psychological support. Additionally, the study calls for developing comprehensive community awareness programs to promote solidarity and support for female released prisoners through media campaigns and local initiatives implemented in cooperation with civil society organizations, educational institutions, and religious institutions. These should include community workshops that explain the experience of detention and promote empathy and support.
