Abstract: | The study aimed to examine social Stresses and their relationship with inner peace among a sample of Palestinian police officers, and to propose a conceptual framework from the perspective of the Cognitive Professional Intervention Model to address these Stresses. The descriptive methodology was employed using a questionnaire as the research instrument. The study population consisted of all Palestinian police officers in the West Bank, totaling (5,489) officers, according to the statistics issued by the Police Directorate in 2024. A convenient sample of (375) officers was selected from this population. The study yielded several findings, most notably that the level of social Stresses among Palestinian police officers in the West Bank governorates was at a moderate level, whereas the level of inner peace among them was high. Based on these results, a proposed conceptual framework was developed, grounded in the Cognitive Professional Intervention Model, with the aim of understanding the nature of social Stresses experienced by Palestinian police officers and identifying ways to enhance their inner peace. To operationalize this proposed framework, the recommendations were integrated into practical, applicable mechanisms within the work environment, including: implementing awareness programs within the police apparatus that focus on reducing social stigma by fostering a societal understanding of the police role and its positive reflection on security and safety; and strengthening time management policies to support police officers by enabling them to spend sufficient time with their families through the adoption of flexible work schedules and regular short breaks. |
