Abstract: This study aims to explore the reality of applying knowledge management operations in the governmental schools and its relationship to e-learning among teachers and principals in Salfeet Governorate-case study, it also explores the role according to the research variables: (gender, job title, academic qualification, years of experience, level of skill in using a computer, and school level). The study adopted the quantitative and qualitative descriptive correlation approach, on a simple random sample, includes (373) teachers and head teachers. It also included (24) teachers and principals in two focus groups for the purpose of obtaining qualitative data to enrich the results of the quantitative study. The result reveals that the reality of applying knowledge management operations among teachers and head teachers was high with average (4.00). The results of the focus groups showed that the training needs are always in accordance with the knowledge needs that appear in the dimension of the knowledge generation, the level of the reality of e-learning was moderate with average (3.33). The results of the focus group also showed that the requirements of the e-learning infrastructure are the first pillar in the educational process, which depends on electronic instruments. In addition, the result indicates that there are no statistically significant differences in the averages of the reality of applying knowledge management operations according to job title, academic qualification, and years of experience. However, there are statistically significant differences according to gender to the favor of females, the level of computer skills to the favor of high usage, and the school level to the favor of the lower basic schools; the result reveals that there are no statistically significant differences in the averages of the reality of e-learning application according to job title and academic qualification. However, there are statistically significant differences according to gender to the favor of females, years of experience for teachers with less than (5) years, the level of computer skills to the favor of high usage, and the school ع level to the favor of the lower basic schools. The result shows that there was a positive correlation between the reality of applying knowledge management operations and e-learning among teachers and principals equals (.60). In the light of the study results, the researcher recommends raising awareness of the importance of knowledge management as a management method that works to achieve a competitive advantage, through an organized and appropriate technological structure for storing knowledge that facilitates access to benefiting the application of knowledge.
