Abstract: | The study aimed to find out the degree to which public school principals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate practice leadership skills and their relationship to administrative accountability from the teachers' point of view, and the difference of each of them according to some variables: gender, years of administrative experience, academic qualification, and age. The study adopted the correlational descriptive approach, and the study sample was chosen by the random stratified method according to the variable of sex class, and it included (351) male and female teachers. The results of the study showed that the degree of practicing leadership skills among public school principals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate from the teachers' point of view was high. The arithmetic average reached (4.10), and the arithmetic averages of the study sample estimates of the areas of practicing leadership skills ranged between (4.17-4.00), as the subjective skills field came in first with an arithmetic average of (4.17) with a high rating, while the field of “taking the decision "is ranked fifth, with an arithmetic average of (4.00), and a high rating. The results also indicated that the degree of practicing administrative accountability among government school principals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate from the teachers' point of view was high, as indicated by the arithmetic average of (4.18). The results of the study also showed that there are no statistically significant differences in the averages of the practice of leadership skills and administrative accountability according to the variables of the teacher’s gender, years of experience, academic qualification, and age. The results indicated that there is a strong positive correlation between practicing leadership skills and administrative accountability among government school principals in the governorate. Ramallah and Al-Bireh, that the correlation coefficient between them reached (.87). The results also showed that the domains of practicing leadership skills interpreted an amount (80.1%) of the total variance of the predicted variable (administrative accountability for public school principals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate), and that the field of development and creativity has a positive effect, and it is the highest and statistically significant and within the evolving model, it is followed by the field of decision-making, and it has a positive and statistically significant impact, while the last area that has a positive impact on administrative accountability and statistically significant is the area of influence and problem-solving. |
