ملخص: The study aims to recognize the level of academic adjustment and its relation with optimism and pessimism among graduate studies students at Al-Quds Open University in light of the shift towards e-learning due to Corona Pandemic, and the differences in their averages due to: gender, academic specialization, social status, using the descriptive correlational approach. The study applies the tools: academic adjustment, optimism and pessimism scales, on a random cluster sample including 210 students. The results reveal that the level of academic adjustment among graduate studies students is moderate, with an average of 3.18, and a percentage 63.6%. The results show that the level of optimism is high, with an average of 4.01, and a percentage 80.2%, while the level of pessimism is low with an average of 2.97, and a percentage 59.4%. The results also indicate that there are no significant differences in any of the academic adjustment, optimism and pessimism due to: gender, academic specialization, social status. The results also show a statistically significant correlation between academic adjustment and both optimism and pessimism among graduate studies students, where the relation between academic adjustment and optimism is positive, with a value of Pearson correlation coefficient .247, which means: The greater the degree of academic adjustment, the greater the level of optimism. In Addition, the relation between academic adjustment and pessimism is negative, with a value of Pearson correlation coefficient -.612, which means: The greater the degree of academic adjustment, the lower the level of pessimism. The results reveals that there are no differences in the relation between academic adjustment and both optimism and pessimism among the study sample according to the gender variable, and the presence of a statistically significant effect of academic adaptation in predicting optimism. Academic adaptation predicts 6.1% of the variance in the level of optimism, while the rest 93.9% is attributable to other variables that did not enter the regression model.
