Title: Psychological and Social Problems and its Relation with Future Anxiety among the Children Enrolled in Accommodation Institutions in the West Bank

Abstract: This Study aimed at recognizing the level of psychological and social problems and their relationship with the future concern of children enrolled in the accommodation institutions in the West Bank. The study also tried to investigate the differences in the averages of psychological and social problems and future concern according to the variables: gender, reason of deprivation, age, and type of care in the institution. The study used the descriptive associative approach, on a sample that was chosen by the random stratified method according to the variables of the study in the accommodation institutions in the West Bank, included 385 children, 191 males and 194 females. The study used two scales: the psychological and social problems scale, and future concern scale. The results showed that the psychological and social problems among children enrolled in the accommodation institutions in the West Bank were low, with an average percentage of responses (47%), and the level of future concern was also low, with an average percentage (51%). The Study results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the averages of the psychological and social problems among children enrolled in the accommodation institutions in the West Bank, regarding different characteristics: gender, reason of deprivation, age. While there were significant differences in the averages of social problems depending on different type of care in the institution in favor of night care institution. The results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences in the average of future concern among children enrolled in accommodation institutions in the West Bank according to differences in gender, reason of deprivation, age and type of care in the institution, except for the concern about future failure according to the reason of deprivation and deprivation age, as the differences were in favor of the deprivation of a parent and the deprivation age was 10-12 years.The results showed a positive and relatively strong linear relationship between the dimensions of psychological and social problems, and the dimensions of the future concern as a whole.
