The study aims to find out the level of body image appreciation concerning psychological hardness of cancer patients in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, it investigates the differences in the averages of both body image and psychological hardness according to variables: age, marital status, and educational qualification. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive correlation approach is used, with two study scales: The Body Image Scale and The Psychological Hardness Scale, and both were applied to a sample that included 89 cancer patients in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate.
The results show that the level of body image estimation was high, and the results indicates that there are no statistically significant differences in the estimation of the body image according to variables: age, marital status, and educational qualification.The results also show that the level of psychological hardness was high, and the results indicates that there are no statistically significant differences in psychological hardness according to the variables: age and educational qualification, while the differences are statistically significant in psychological hardness according to the variable of marital status in favor of the married woman. The results show a statistically significant correlation between body image estimation and psychological hardness in cancer patients: the correlation was direct; Meaning, the higher-level estimation of body image, the higher the level of psychological hardness.
