Abstract:
This study aimed to identify the level of empowerment in the Palestinian security institution, and to identify the level of achieving sustainable development in Palestine. It also aimed to determine the nature of the relationship between the implementation of empowerment of the Palestinian security institution and the achievement of sustainable development.
The independent variable of the study was the administrative empowerment with its dimensions: delegation, mandate staff training, team works, communication and information flow, and incentives; whereas the sustainable development was the dependent variable in its social, economic and environmental dimensions.
The study adopted the descriptive and analytical approach, and the population of the study consisted of all the employees of the Palestinian security services in the governorate of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, who were about (1200) males and females. The total of the study sample consisted of (300) respondents from the affiliates of those agencies, and the sample members were chosen by the simple random sample method.
The researcher used a questionnaire and personal interview as two tools for data collection. Questionnaires were distributed to the sample of the study, and (288) questionnaires were retrieved. Several statistical methods were used, the most important of them were: arithmetic means and standard deviations, Pearson correlation coefficient, and simple linear regression coefficient.

The application of administrative empowerment in the Palestinian security institution was of a moderate degree from the point of view of its employees. And the most important dimension is the dimension of mandate, and that there is an impact of applying administrative empowerment in the Palestinian security institution to achieving sustainable development in which the most important dimension of it was the social dimension.

The Palestinian security establishment should work on deepen the application of administrative empowerment, and the study recommended spreading the culture of administrative empowerment throughout the Palestinian society as a whole to contribute to upgrading and developing the performance of institutional work in order to enhance the achievement of sustainable development.
