Abstract:
This study tried to examine the phenomenon of foresight in the Contemporary Palestinian poetry of the poets: Ibrahim Toukan and Mahmoud Darwish. The study has been divided into two chapters and issued with a preface. In the first chapter the researcher shed light on the foresight of future in the poetry of Ibrahim Toukan, and the reasons that led him to foresee the pessimistic reality reperesented by (the Mandatory Government, the Zionist ambitions, the lack of public awareness, the nature of local leadership that topped the political scene at home, and the Arab leadership and the brokers).
The second chapter dealt with the foresight of the future in the poetry of Mahmoud Darwich and the reasons that led him to foresee the optimistic reality in favor of the Palestinian cause: (reading history, liberation movements, the factors of Arab unity, the national leaders, the role of culture, the Arab and Islamic culture and factors related to the Israeli enemy).
