Abstract:
The current study aimed to identify psychological capital and its relationship to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among the families of martyrs in Palestine. To achieve the study objectives، the researcher used the descriptive correlational approach، as it is the most appropriate for the nature of this study، which aims to understand the relationship between variables. The study population consisted of all the families of martyrs in Palestine، numbering (2136) families of martyrs in Palestine. As for the study sample، a survey sample of (45) families of martyrs in Palestine was selected. Based on the analysis of the data، the following results were reached: The results of the study showed that the level of psychological capital among the families of martyrs was average، with an overall average of 2.48 out of 5 (i.e.، 49.6%)، with resilience and optimism topping the other dimensions، followed by hope and then self-efficacy. It also became clear that their level of post-traumatic stress disorder was also average، with an average of 3.39 out of 5 (i.e.، 67.8%). No statistically significant differences were recorded in psychological capital attributable to variables such as gender، age، kinship to the martyr، place of residence، or the period of time since martyrdom. However، significant differences were found in the level of psychological capital attributable to place of residence (camps، cities، villages). Finally، the results showed a significant negative correlation between psychological capital and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among the families of martyrs in Palestine. Based on the results obtained in the study، the following recommendations were proposed: developing specialized psychological support programs، providing comprehensive treatment programs، and allocating psychological and social support to the area’s most in need.
