Abstract:
This study aimed to realize the reality of information technology and its relationship to good governance in the units of local government (a case study of the municipalities of South Hebron). This study was applied on the833 employees in the municipalities in south hebron. The study sample was 255 make and female employees

The study concluded that the total degree of the study sample’s estimates of the axes of the reality of information technology in the municipalities of southern Hebron came to a large degree, moreover, the axes of good governance came to a large degree,
there is a statistically significant effect at the significance level (a > 0.05) for the axes of information technology (physical devices, Communication network, software, databases, human resources) on good governance
There are no significant differences at the significance level (a 0.05) for the reality of information technology in the municipalities of South Hebron according to the variable gender, educational qualification, job title, age. On the other hand,there are statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) for the reality of information technology in Municipalities of South Hebron according to the variable years of experience, and in favor of years of experience (10) years or more.
Also, there are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) for the reality of good governance in the municipalities of South Hebron according to the variable gender, job title, age.

According to the results of the study, the researcher recommended the following:
the necessity to strengthen standards for the application of information technology, and work to disseminate them within the municipalities and the ministry in an extensive manner.
Also, the need for the senior management in the Ministry of Local Government to strengthen the standards of good governance, and work to spread the culture of their application within the ministry through educational programs.
