This research studies and analyzes the structural manifestations in Tamim Al-Barghouti's poetry to find out artistic and thematic manifestations in the poem “Al-Burda”, and to follow their types and forms and the extent to which they reflect on the poet's language inside “Al-Burda”.
This research also reveals the aesthetics of the linguistic structure of Tamim's poem, how he presented his subject for us and took us to his poetic world, and how he transferred to us a lot of past and present events from the reality to the poem, which truly expressed what was in his thoughts presenting his love to the Messenger of God. In his research, the researcher adopted the structural analytical approach which studies the structural aspects within the composition of the poem.
This approach is also concerned with finding out the elements of the poet’s composition following their patterns, devising their semantic and aesthetic dimensions, knowing their effectiveness in shaping the language and style of the poet and the factors that contributed to the formation of the image of the Messenger, clarifying the personality traits of the Messenger of God and the extent of the influence of the Messenger on this nation, and how the poet Tamim Al-Barghouthi took advantage of the overlapping literary races in the formation of the structural composition that painted the characteristics of the Messenger and drawing his image with anecdotal elements that combined what is artistic and what is objective in explaining the features of the Messenger of God.
The researcher divided the research objectively including an introduction, a preface, four chapters and a conclusion. In the preface, he touched upon the linguistic meaning of the structural approach as stated in the dictionaries of the Arabic language followed by the conceptual meaning. Then, he presented old and new opinions of critics on the structural approach. Next, the emergence of the structural approach and its resources were presented including both the Westerners and Arabs. The researcher then analyzed Tamim Al-Barghouti's “Al-Burda” according to the basics of the structural approach that embodied structural aesthetics in “Al-Burda”.
Therefore, the first chapter dealt with the single dualism within “Al-Burda”, including the dualism of self and subject, the dualism of the constant and vowel, the dualism of life and death, the dualism of the positive and negative, and the dualism of reality and example.
The second chapter was about compositional structures, and it encompassed several topics including temporal composition, pronouns, apparent name, the definite and indefinite and affirmation and negation. The third chapter was devoted to studying the artistic image and it included several sections related to the single image, the composite image, and the total image. The fourth chapter was about the rhythmic structure of “Al-Burda”. Finally, the conclusion summarized the findings of the study. |
