This is the last unit in this course Translation II. It deals with another type of special language that is considered one of the most difficult fields of translation , namely the language of literature. The unit also gives certain emphasis to the concept of equivalence with its all components: lexical, syntactic, and pragmatic. Furthermore, the unit presents some figure of speech that abounds in the language of literature so as train students to translate each type using the best techniques and resources. Examples of translated literary specimens are given including the following literary genres : the essay, the short story/novel, the drama, and finally poetry |
