Developing and Designing an e -Learning portal for the Ministry of Health
This project was implemented in cooperation with INTRA HEALTH and aims to develop and design an e-Learning portal using Moodle for the Ministry of Health, train the staff of the Ministry on how use and manage this portal and design educational programs and upload them on the portal.
Teaching Arabic to Non Native Speakers
The Project aims to develop the field of teaching Arabic for non-native speakers, by providing online modules in the light of technical educational experiences and enhancing the skills of Arabic teachers to design and develop online modules for teaching Arabic for non-native speakers.
Promoting OER Concepts, Reuse, and Practices in the Arab Countries
The Project aims to develop A Self-Learning Open Online Training Course to raise the OER awareness and assist academics and teachers from the Arab countries (Jordan and Palestine). It was Funded by UNESCO and implemented in Cooperation with Ministry of Education in Jordan.
Increase the capacities of Citizens in investigative Journal
The project aims to build the national capacities among journalists in the concept of investigative journalism by developing Self learning course to reinforce their skills to be able to use the investigative journalism techniques to influence the people and support them for social and political change.
Dr. Eng. Islam Amro is a CIS Associate professor at Al-Quds Open University, currently he leads more than 400 personal of the university teams and departments in information technology, content development and educational media production.
Dr. Amro has lead the first national initiative on OER that was embodied in Qtube and other shared content platforms. Dr. Amro has served in local organizations, private sector and international organization –such as UNESCO, UNDP, USAID- as a consultant in IT capacity building, project management and policy making.
Prof. Alfredo Soeiro was the founder of European Universities Continuing Education Network (EUCEN) since November 1991 and was the vice president of EUCEN for seven years(www.eucen.org)since November 1991.
Prof. Soeiro was the founder of the Continuing Engineering Education office of the College of Engineering of the University of Porto. He was the founder and President of Portuguese Association of Universities for Continuing Education and he was the president of International Association of Continuing Engineering Education.
She has extensive teaching and research experience in five countries (UK, Greece, Cyprus, Palestine and India) with 25 years of teaching experience as an Academic Teacher and almost 14 years as Senior Researcher. She has taught several undergraduate and MA programmes related to ICT Learning Theories, Open Educational Resources (OER), Educational Research, e-Learning, Adult Learning, and TEL Methodologies using the most emergent ICT tools.
Her principal research interests are lying in the field of ICT in Education, Contemporary Pedagogies, e- learning, Virtual Reality and interactive teaching in Higher Education with the use of state of the art pedagogies under a critical-reflective and transformative perspective. A plethora of Maria’s research papers have been published in scientific Journals and have been presented to international conferences and institutional workshops.
Her managerial experience feeds into the coordination of many innovative EU and International projects, having also an extensive scientific network of international synergies. She has a strong collaboration with EU and Global Universities and Institutes, UK and EU professional bodies too.
Currently she works as Senior Lecturer at the University of Patras and she is collaborating as Senior Researcher at Al- Quds Open University of Palestine and as Professor- Counselor at the Hellenic Open University. In parallel she is Visiting Senior Researcher at the University of Surrey in UK
Alastair Creelman
Prof. Alastair Creelman is an e-learning specialist at Linnaeus University in Sweden. He works extensively in national and international projects and organisations in e-learning with a focus on collaborative learning, the use of digital media in education, virtual mobility.
He teaches on several online courses in the field of collaborative online learning and runs frequent workshops for teachers both in Sweden and abroad as well as assignments as guest speaker at conferences. He is an expert member of the ISO PC288 committee designing the new ISO 21001 standard Educational Organisation Management Systems.
