Unit five, as previous units, consists of four sections: Reading, grammar, language use and writing respectively. The first is a reading text on money and banks. The second concentrates on forming questions. The third deals with expressions and phrases that one could use to be polite in communication. The fourth section is for writing a CV.

Money and banks are very important for the functioning of the modern world. Technology developments have changed a lot of things in our daily life. People could not manage their life without the unique services of banks. Banks enable people to save money, borrow money and to pay for things with ease and security. Through this text you can get an idea about the importance of banks for running business and securing the transactions of money worldwide. You shall be familiar with some financial terms used in the market and business management.
Upon completing this section, you should be able to:

When people communicate they pass and receive information. In order to understand what is said, people need to ask questions to get information about what they do not know. Therefore, asking questions in English is very important when you are in contact with people. When you ask questions, you want information. This unit deals with two kinds of questions which are Yes-No questions and Wh-word questions. In this section, you are going to learn some details about how to make each type.

“Politeness is having or showing behavior that is respectful and considerate of other people.” Oxford Dictionary. Maintaining proper etiquette and speaking properly to a person without offending him or her is politeness. So, basically it’s treating people with respect.
There are many reasons why politeness is important in life but one of them is that if you’re polite, you are more likely to achieve your objectives and get what you want . Politeness can and will improve your relationships with others, help to build respect and rapport, boost your self-esteem and confidence, and improve your communication skills.
